Around 50% Dead ( and an occasional Further, Kimock, Mermen etc.), and 50% classical, jazz b;lue, country, and other rock etc. ( cycle through my collection ).
My idea of Metal , was those first 4 Black Sabbath albums ! Sorta liked Moterhead , and would have liked some of the "cookie monster rock' if I was 18 . Never cared for the 80's stuff , though I have friends that do ( age related ). For heavy sounding rock, I still like WT's favs Cream, Hendrix, and the live Who from the era ( check out "Live at Leeds "!) But mostly power chords mean, these days Bruckner, or Shostakovich !

I agree with you Dudley, Sabbath is the ultimate metal band, I also love the 4 first albums. The 80's metal can be cheesy but the early stuff is my favorite, I lost a ton of interest once the hair got bigger and the ballad more popular (although my wife and I do listen to it somewhat fondly now but when I was in HS i got more into the emerging rap scene as hair got bigger and then by the end of my junior yr in hs got into the beatles, stones, the who, cream and then eventually made my way to the Dead and they have been a passionate hobby for many years but at times I do fall out of them always to come back soon after! Long way around your post - Sabbath are the metal gods before all and then came the 80's stuff!
